Appointment: Chief Customer Officer of MagicOrange

MagicOrange has appointed Pete Hidalgo as Chief Customer Officer in line with its strategy to accelerate international expansion and, specifically, to grow its presence in the US.

Pete’s role is to strengthen the differentiation of MagicOrange in the US market by focusing on the undisputable benefits of IT Financial Management (ITFM) as a discipline. He is a recognized and respected thought leader in the world of ITFM and boasts extensive experience in technology finance.

An increasing number of customers worldwide are looking for progressive solutions for cost transparency and profitability to increase their competitive edge and most importantly to grow the value of their business for the future. Gartner predicts that 70% of CIOs will have a dedicated ITFM tool at their disposal by 2024.

“A major part of my role is to educate organizations about the benefits of ITFM and purpose-built tools, such as MagicOrange,” notes Pete. “A major focus is to build customers’ understanding of the ITFM journey, helping them to map their individual roadmaps to maturity.”

During the course of his career, Pete developed the ITFM Pathway To Success, an easy-to-follow framework that enables customers to achieve the rewards of an effective ITFM program.

“Benefits from successful completion of the Pathway To Success include improved business unit satisfaction with IT, improved IT cost efficiency, and IT being seen as a value provider instead of a cost center,” he says.

Pete is a former CIO and COO, with more than 25 years of experience in ITFM, Telecom and IT infrastructure, Cost Optimization, Program Management and IT Shared Services Transformation.

His previous responsibilities include serving as the Global IT Financial Director for a Fortune 100 company. In that role he developed and implemented an ITIL-based service costing and chargeback process, resulting in improved client satisfaction and major recurring cost savings.

Pete also served as the IT Financial Management Service Leader within Ernst & Young’s (EY) IT Advisory practice, where he served as the trusted partner for C level executives who needed to improve their ITFM capabilities, cost transparency and value delivery to business units.

He was a distinguished instructor at the EY University, where he created ITFM courses and taught fellow consultants.

Pete joins the MagicOrange’s US team, reporting to recently appointed International CEO at MagicOrange, David Harding, who notes that Pete’s deep industry experience, both as a leader and practitioner, adds immense depth to the team.

“His expertise will ensure our customers reap the full benefits of their ITFM programs,” says David Harding.

“We are delighted to welcome Pete to our team,” says Lyle Dixon-Smith, Senior Vice President at MagicOrange Corp. “His expertise and knowledge will help our customers to understand, plan and measure the desired outcomes of successfully implemented ITFM processes.”
